With Homecoming around the corner, high school football season is in high gear. The Alta JV football team is off to a 2-1 start and are hoping to win the next game against the oldest Alta rival, Brighton. Currently, Brighton has a 4-1 record. 

“I plan to excel this season by working hard,” says Breck Warren, Alta’s wide receiver. He believes that both JV and Varsity have potential to go far and grow past their expectations every season. While the Friday night lights often shine brightest on varsity players, there’s a world of talent and teamwork at the junior varsity level that deserves recognition. 

Another Alta star, guard Mack Vickery, attributes his motivation to get better every day is to his teams commitment to win each and every day. With these two captains on the roster this year the JV team will be a threat to be reckoned with. Come out to the Alta football field and support the JV team this Thursday 4:00 pm. Go JV Hawks!
