The Alta Hawks Mountain Bike Team races through their season and reached their final turn. They are competing in the state championship today and tomorrow.
The team has been preparing for this moment for a long time, and they are digging deeper every day. The whole state will be there to compete, but only a few will succeed.
“It’s state. The best players are going to be there, and we have to show up,” says Braden Lucky, one of the riders who will be competing on the big day. The state championship is in Cedar City, Utah, featuring riders from high schools all over the state. “I feel good about our place among these other schools,” continues Lucky, “But to beat the best we have to race as a team and not by ourselves.”
Mountain biking is not just an individual sport to these racers, but helping each other to succeed works out in the best ways. The racers race individually, but also as a team.
“We’ve been waiting for a long time, and now it’s finally here,” says Max Gehret, expressing his excitement for the event. The mountain bike team here at Alta is a strong group,
and will show up with the biggest support on the special occasion. Everyone who wants to come and support the team is encouraged to attend the race or stream it by clicking on this link.
