Halfway through the season, the Hawks hockey team is still grinding. They’ve faced tough teams and had a few close calls, but they’re not backing down. With some big games ahead, the squad’s more pumped than ever to keep pushing and finish this season strong.
“Drown out the crowd, it’s all just manifestation and focus on what you want to do and it will happen,” says Alta Hockey Captain Tyler Forkner on how he performs his best in high-pressure situations.
Forkner definitely shines bright when the going gets tough for the Hawks. This is because Forkner is in the top five on the team for goals, averaging 1.1 goals per game. He is looking for a strong finish this season with hopes of a championship ring.
“Our team chemistry is good this season, we got many juniors that have been working together and now that we are upperclassmen it’s working well,” said Alta Hockey’s position player Jesse Mismash, on how the team chemistry is looking this season
Jesse often comes alive in the second half of the regular season. Jesse has been a steady presence for Alta Hockey this season, contributing both on and off the ice. As an upperclassman, Jesse knows what it’s like to be in the position of the underclassmen, so often during games when players are down on themselves Jesse is there to get them back on their feet.
As the season heats up, Alta’s hockey team is ready to bring their highest gear of play. With a mix of upper and underclassmen, Alta hockey can achieve their ultimate goal, winning as much as possible to increase their odds for playoffs. It’s all about teamwork, hustle, and finishing what they started. Look for a big stride going forward to start the second half of the season in January.
