Start of the assembly/volleybrawl finals
Alta’s student body is ecstatic with the thoughts of hoco, for the upcoming dance and the
traditions that have been leading up to it. The week’s activities started with the volleybrawl tournament on monday followed with the assembly on tuesday were they held the final game Hacky sack club Vs. The CTE teachers. The CTE team had a slow start but ended up pulling ahead half way through the match. After they took the lead they never gave it back and kept pushing full force to the win.
Student Vs. Teacher
After the volleyball game they took down the net and followed it up with some student versus teachers games. “My favorite part of the assembly was watching Ms.vellinga play Hungry Hungry Hippo’s” said Layla Bell a freshman who was at the assembly. It was interesting to see the different competitions they had prepared. The competitions varied from a hotdog eating contest to the game of Hungry Hungry Hippos.
The Drill team performance
Later in the assembly the drill team started their performance “we’ve been preparing for the assembly through july and most of the summer” Lizzie and giselle said two members of the drill team. I asked if they were performing at any other events this week, “were performing in the pre-game show and halftime spectacular at the homecoming game.” said giselle. I asked them more about the halftime show and they told me “the drill part is going to be around 3 minutes but the whole performance is going to be about 20 minutes including parts from every performing team” said giselle. All in all the drill performance was great and we’re excited to see the halftime this friday.
Closing the assembly
They ended the assembly with the school song before everybody started to shuffle out of the gym and into the halls for their next class.
