The Lady Hawks Soccer Team is six wins and two losses in region putting them in a first place tie with rival Lehi. They are working hard to keep that placement and have four more region games before the state tournament.

In spite of the challenges competition brings, the players are calling this year “lots of fun” and it shows on the field.

Coach Mckenzie Hyer gives credit the the overall unity among the girls.  “They are working so hard to be good teammates and great players,” Hyer said.

They are always working to improve their “finishing.”

“More shots equal more goals and that equals more wins,” Hyer added.

No matter what happens, the team continues to strive to be better players and a better team as a whole.

For player Hannah Cottis “a good attitude and good relationship with the team” is the secret for success!

For now, the girls are hoping at a shot at the state tournament and will continue working and clawing their way to that goal, one game at a time.

The soccer team has won eight state championships in the past and nothing would make the team happier than to add another trophy to the case. To do that, player Rylee Olsen said they have to “work hard at practice every day, and treat it [the practice] like it’s our last.”
