Team members celebrate a touchdown in the end zone against Maple Mountain.

Hawks Head into Region Play with Big Win

Last Friday, Alta took an amazing victory against Maple Mountain!

Alta played really hard, and Coach Te’o was impressed with how the team “really stepped up…offensively” and were “really productive”.

But even though the Hawks won 29-9, Maple mountain was no push-over team. “We lost against them last year [in] quarter finals” remarks Te’o, “and we felt like this was a team we needed to make a statement on and come out and get a little bit of revenge.”

— Alema Te'o, Head Coach

To make our victory even sweeter, none of the players sustained any major injuries. In fact, Te’o points out that we were by far the more physical team. “They had five dudes get taken out” Te’o adds, “they were going down”.

The students were thrilled at this week’s game, excited to cheer on a winning team. The stands were packed, and the crowd erupted with every touchdown.

The U.S. themed stands were as insane as they have ever been. Even Uncle Sam made an appearance in the sea of stars and stripes!

When it came to halftime, both color guard and marching band gave amazing performances!

Success was in the stadium from the game, to the performances, to the patriotic student section.
