Alta’s Boy’s Soccer Is On A Roll This Season
The Boys' Soccer team is now in first place in 5A Region 8.
Alta’s boy’s soccer team kicked off the season with a hit as they aim to defeat all. With the nine games they have kicked off so far, the team has won eight of them. They found themselves falling short at the non-region game at St. George’s Snow Canyon. The boys find themselves undefeated in league play, giving them the first-place spot in 5A Region 8.
“My hopes are to win it all. We are off to a really great start, with seniors who really are amazing leaders,” says Coach Hyer. “This really is a team that can go all the way.”
Last year, their season ended when they lost their second playoff game. However this season they strive to reach more goals as their performance is better than in the past.
One of the captains and seniors on the soccer team, David Okerlund, said “I love playing my favorite sport with some of my best friends. I met a lot of new people from playing the sport that I love so much. It’s just so cool to see how hard-working everyone is as we make our way to the top.”
Okerlund wasn’t the only one who loved the sport and his teammates. Junior Lincoln Eberhart said, “I love playing soccer because it allows me to spend time with my teammates and play the sport I love.”
“Being able to connect with the students of Alta through winning soccer games is such a cool opportunity.”
The boy’s soccer team is already off with a great start hoping to end with one of their best seasons yet.
