Hope Week 2022 is Here!

This year, Hope Squad is hosting Hope Week on April 25-29.

This Hope Week, Hope Squad has decided to focus on spreading positivity and boosting student morale before their AP tests on the first week of May. Hope Squad advisor, Ms. Deveny said, “It has been a rough year and we are trying to spread positivity and hope as classes start to put on more pressure and AP testing begins.”

This year, Hope Week will be bigger than in the past few years, because most COVID-19 restrictions have lifted.

A hope squad member, Thomas Squire, commented, “We are all tired and ready for summer to begin, but we want to help students find the hope and energy to push through the final month.”

On Monday, Alta’s drummers will be playing outside, welcoming students while Hope Squad members pass out candy inside. On Tuesday, Hope Squad members will have written uplifting chalk messages on the sidewalks outside the entrances.

On Wednesday there will be a rubber duck scavenger hunt! Be on the lookout in the hallways for ducks with silly messages. On Thursday, there will be a campus cleanup after school, taking care of the trash in the parking lots and in the football fields.

All week, there will be a table set up at lunch for anyone to participate in a Hope Squad activity, nominating others who give you hope in order to receive prizes.
