Hawks are found everywhere. They are super adaptable to every climate and location. According to teacher Krista Edward, “they are survivors and they are thrivers.” They are always there to help a family member of friend out.” These qualities are found in this month’s Hawk Heroes.

Hawk Heroes of the Month

The PTSA is bringing back the Alta Hawk Hero Award that spotlights students who have done something kind and caring for their classmates.

This month’s Freshman Hawk Heroes are Miranda Stokes and Matthew Teichart. The PTSA officers wrote that Miranda is able to help other students who are having difficulties in school. She respects the hard-working teachers and is very aware of others in her life. Matthew was picked by his fellow students who said that he is very nice and friendly to everyone. They also said that he is able to participate in class and is very responsible.

The Sophomores that were nominated are Carter Goodfellow and Paisley Wallace. Carter received the award because of his great example to others. He is welcoming towards others, hardworking, and super friendly. He makes others feel included and sets a great example for everyone. Paisley was also nominated by some of her peers who said that she is “very aware and friendly to others. They all say that she is good at reading the room and responding to the people that really need kindness or attention.”

The Juniors recipients of this month’s award are Haylee Holbrook and Cali Jeppson. Haylee is someone who works hard and reaches out to help. In her free time, she gets involved with things like piano, gymnastics, and choir. School is another thing that Haylee excels in, working hard in all she does. Cali Jeppson was nominated because she is a nice person who isn’t afraid to walk up and talk to you. Cali brings school spirit here to Alta and helps encourage others to engage in school spirit as well. “We are lucky to have someone to put her whole heart into everything she does here at Alta,” the PTSA officers wrote.

The senior Hawk Heroes for this month are Dani Gibson and Sam Royce. Sam was nominated for his dedication to Link Crew. He’s very skillful as the swim captain and the department president in choir. He has been a great student and friend to fellow hawks. Dani is an amazing friend who has a very positive attitude toward things. Another thing she’s very proficient in is her schooling; she has a high rank among the senior class. She loves the theater department and is amazing on stage. In fact, she wrote and directed the Murder Mystery show that premiered back in December. Students also pointed out that she is kind and supportive to our students here at Alta.

Students who want to nominate their peers for the Hawk Hero Award can place a nomination in the box in the library.
