Students Raise Money and Make Ellie’s Wish Come True
The holiday break started off with a bang with this years Make-A-Wish kid, Ellie getting her Wish. Disneyworld is the future for Ellie and her family.
Students have been working so so so hard to raise the money to get Ellie the help she needs through donations and charity dances. Not only did students raise $2,000 in the assembly alone for Ellie, but Garret Jessop, Anthony Cottis, and Teacher Cody Nesbit all shaved their heads to congratulate the students on reaching their goal of $10,000. Scheels also donated an-additional 2,500 dollars to the cause.
For Nesbit, it was all for a good cause. When asked if his wife and daughter approved of his new look, he said “My daughter doesn’t like it, but my wife is okay with the buzz.”
Losing all his hair in less than a minute, Jessop called the experience “crazy.”
“It definitely takes some getting used to.
After students competed in ping pong and spike ball, The Concert Choir performed “Last Christmas” with McKenzie Hulet as their lead singer.
Students also earned the one hour lunch, Winter Week, and Buzzed heads. Winter Week & the one hour lunch will occur in January.
“We will continue to ask for any donations for Ellie until her wish has been fully granted. According to Student Government Adviser Shaley Louder, “We are well on our way.”
“I feel good about the fundraiser, Louder said. “We are going to reach our goal of $10,000 and beyond.”
