Stomping boots and country music fill the walls every Wednesday and Saturday night at Tippin’ Point in Provo Utah, as beginners and experts gather with a date, or by themselves to learn line and swing dancing, all while embracing their inner cowboys and cowgirls. For those that dont have experience dancing theres no reason to fret either. Dance coaches start teaching lessons in swing dancing and line dancing at 8:30, before the lights go out and the jukebox kicks on at 9:30, and turns a dance hall in Provo into a hopping “Honky Tonk” until the late hours of the night.
This past Saturday I had the chance to visit for the second time to see what all the rave is about. What I saw was couples both young and old coming together for a date night, along with others meeting people for the first time and having a good time. The dance hall is nestled right in downtown Provo, which makes for a great atmosphere, and for six dollars a person makes a great cheap date that I would reccomend for all the people out there that have a little Shania Twain or George Strait deep in their hearts.
