The third of its series, Amanda the Adventurer 3 comes out November 6th, 2025. The Amanda the Adventurer games are about a girl (Amanda) and her sheep friend named Wooly, in an interactive vhs “TV show,” a little like “Dora the Explorer” except creepier. You play as Riley, a little girl whose aunt is involved in destroying the Amanda the Adventurer tapes.
Before you play the game, you can watch a recap of the last two games in case you forgot. The recap included some gameplay but they tried to make it as aesthetic as possible, which personally didn’t feel like it hit the mark. They added a prequel, which was new, the movement was a little hard to control, but within the context of the character you’re playing needing to rush, it makes sense. After the prequel, you start off right back to just after the second game. The puzzles aren’t super hard to solve, but even if you miss something, they added a “hint” mechanic, in their own, creepy way.
Overall, the game was wholesome and heartbreaking. The bittersweet story of Rebecca and her father added an aspect of gloom into the game. It tied all of the Amanda the Adventure games together and was a satisfying end to the Amanda the Adventurer journey.
