Flashing lights, loud music, a room filled with people. Over the weekend students gathered in the commons to celebrate the upcoming holidays.
In previous years, Alta’s winter dances have mostly been formal. This year they switched it up to be far more comfortable. Students were asked to show up in their coziest pajamas and they certainly followed through. Students all dressed up, some students came in onesies, others came in Christmas themed jumpsuits, while most came in assorted color pajama pants. “The fact that everyone wore their pajamas made this dance memorable,” participants said. “It was fun to see everyone in their hoodies and plaid pants.”
The DJ played a variety of music. They played everything from Christmas music to Katy Perry and Taylor Swift. Students enjoyed moshing, dancing, talking, and singing. One student says, “I love school dances. My favorite part of the dances is moshing.” The Christmas decorations and music really helped students start to feel the holiday spirit. Overall, Winters was a huge success and students cannot wait for the next one.
