With National Qualifiers for debate coming around the corner, here’s what to expect:

Speech Qualifiers

Three weeks ago on Saturday, the Alta Debate team went down to Beaver High school for national speech qualifiers. Alta led a whopping grand slam having 6 students qualify for nationals. Hawk yeah! Afterwards Coach Croswhite generously bought the entire debate team ice cream from the Beaver creamery. 

The students who have qualified for speech nationals are as follows:

Calvin Kremser & Becca Catmull, Dublin McClure, Gabe Carlton, Sophie Foster, and Sophie Gettelman

Coming Up tournaments

In a week from now on Friday and Saturday Alta debate team is heading to Salem High School for congress and debate. It is expected that Alta Debate will win another grand slam at this tournament. 

Coach’s Statment

Coach Croswhite, the head coach for debate, has repeatedly said that she has high hopes for the upcoming tournament and has been working on helping the debate teams prepare for the Qualifiers.
