In Alta’s first boys basketball playoff game, the Hawks took the win over the Viewmont Vikings with a final score of 51-48. The game remained fairly competitive throughout, as each team had only a 6 point lead as the largest lead of the game. Alta basketball has proven over and over again and time after time that they have what it takes to win. With that, Alta’s win total is now up to 18 on the season, and they look to add onto that tomorrow with a quarterfinal game against #3 Timpview.
#6 Alta(18-6, 1-0 in the playoffs) will play #3 Timpview (19-5, 1-0 in the playoffs) play on Tuesday, February 25th at 2:30 in the afternoon at the Huntsman Center on the University of Utah campus. Alta will not only be looking for another win to add onto their already impressive 2025 resume, but also an advancement in the tournament, while Timpview may be looking for a grudge match.
In 2023, #4 Alta played #7 Timpview in the State Championship game. Alta took home the trophy winning with a final of 64-53. A year later, in 2024, #1 Alta played #4 Timpview in the Semi-Finals. Alta once again knocked Timpview off the bracket by a score of 72-60. The Hawks later lost that championship to Olympus. Now, in 2025, these two teams play yet again in the playoffs. Alta is looking to ruin Timpview’s dreams again in 2025, and Timpview is looking for a redemption shot at the Hawks for all the time Alta has ruined their playoff run.
